We hope you will find this site informative. The Town Center Committee is working hard on making this project a reality. Our meetings are open to the public and all are welcome.
The purpose of the Town Center is to give Portsmouth a sense of place. In our surveys of recent years we found that Portsmouth residents consider the area around Clement’s Market to be the center of town. Thus this area (on East Main Road from the Town Hall to Freeborn Street), with its potential growth, has been designated as the future Portsmouth Town Center…a safe and walkable place for all of Portsmouth to enjoy.
